Karlie Kloss will reportedly earn £193 per step on catwalks

Last season the former Victoria’s Secret angel is said to have earned £81,000 from walking 22 shows between September 2014 to Feburary 2015 shows, which included major brands including Chanel, Michael Kors, Fendi and Elie Saab.

“The figures were based on calculating the average amount a beginner model, an established model and a supermodel earns to walk runway divided by the length of a 30-metre catwalk,” said a spokesperson for the Association of Accounting Technicians, who conducted the research.

“However, once their annual salaries from the Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter 2015 fashion shows and advertising campaigns are combined, the gap between model status and pay cheque becomes even more apparent.”

There’s no doubt that Karlie has already landed major high fashion campaigns, her latest being for iconic Italian fashion house Versace – and the American beauty’s campaign work saw her reportedly earn £1.8million in 2015 alone, with her net worth estimated at around £2.5million.

Despite her highly successful modelling career, Karlie has always been keen to make time for her education, and earlier this month the star enrolled at New York University – and 90s supermodel Christy Turlington, an alumni at the school, wrote her recommendation letter.

“It was all about my crush on Karlie in 500 words,” she told the New York Times. “She is going to take this education and blow it up. She’s so eager and ready and thoughtful about her next steps.”

Meanwhile, Karlie explained that she had been inspired by Christy when she made the decision – much like Christy, at the height of her career in 1994, found a balance between getting a college education and taking on increasing numbers of modelling jobs.

“The whole idea of believing I could go to college, and model, comes straight from Christy,” said Karlie. “It’s a lot to take on, but she did it. But I may ask for help with homework.”
